Lincoln County Recorder

The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for making record of documents in two main areas:
- Real Estate
- Marriage Licenses.
In addition, servicemen's records, tax liens and miscellaneous documents not in these areas may be recorded upon request and compliance with statutes. Records in this office provide data about real estate transactions and historical perspective. Deeds, deeds of trust, releases, easements, surveys, plats, restrictions, wills, road right of ways, articles of incorporation, patents, affidavits and marriage license information make up an example of documents.
Our staff will check your document to be sure it meets all statutory requirements for recording, but we cannot:
- Give legal advice.
- Perform title or lien searches.
- Complete or fill out/type deeds.
- Supply blank legal forms.
- Determine ownership of property.
- Verify that the document fulfills the intentions of the party recording the document.
- Provide notary public services for any document to be recorded.
The Recorder of Deeds office only records documents and advises its customers to consult with a real estate attorney or title company in preparing any deeds pertaining to real estate property.
Online record searches of the real estate records can be conducted using the links below.
Any documents (real estate or marriage licenses) presented after 3:30 pm will be recorded the next business day.
Marriage Licenses: Applications are not accepted after 3:30 p.m. in order to allow sufficient time for the application process. Executed Marriage Licenses will not be recorded after 3:30 p.m.
