In Lincoln County, Missouri, the County Commission serves as the executive body of the county government. It comprises three members: a Presiding Commissioner elected at large, and two Associate Commissioners elected from Districts 1 and 2. 

The Commission's responsibilities include:

  • Policy and Ordinance Establishment: Formulating and enacting policies and ordinances to govern county operations.
  • Supervision of County Departments: Overseeing departments such as the Highway Department, Facilities and Grounds Maintenance, Economic Development, Emergency Management Agency, and Floodplain Administration.
  • Appointments to Local Boards: Appointing members to various boards, including the Lincoln County Resource Board, Industrial Development Authority Board, Community Opportunities Board, Onsite System Hearing Board, and Food Service Hearing Board.
  • Budget Approval: Approving and adopting the annual budget for all county operations.

Additionally, in accordance with Missouri law, county commissioners in second, third, and fourth class counties are tasked with filing summarized reports of all funds received from any U.S. government agency. They also represent the county on various regional councils related to health, education, and welfare. 

The Lincoln County Commission holds public meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Troy, Missouri. Agendas are posted 24 hours in advance and can be viewed on the County Clerk's page.
