Conceal Carry Permits

Conceal Carry Permit - Legal Updates
Effective January 1, 2017, Missouri law allows individuals aged 19 and older, or 18 and older if active duty military or honorably discharged, to carry concealed firearms without a permit. This change followed the override of Governor Nixon's veto of Senate Bill 656 in 2016.
Although permitless carry is allowed in Missouri, obtaining a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit provides benefits, such as reciprocity with other states that recognize Missouri permits. To apply, applicants must meet age requirements, complete a firearms safety training course, and submit an application to the Sheriff’s Office.
Important: Concealed carry is still prohibited in specific locations, even with a permit. Stay informed about state laws to ensure compliance and responsible firearm ownership.
