Ride Alongs

Ride-Along Program
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office offers a Ride-Along Program to give citizens a closer look at law enforcement operations. Observers may participate up to four (4) times per year, for a maximum of four (4) hours per ride, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and midnight.
The Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to deny any individual the opportunity to participate. Any false or untruthful information provided will result in automatic denial of the application. During the ride-along, all information seen or heard is considered strictly confidential. You may not discuss any names, addresses, or incidents with anyone other than the assigned deputies.

Waiver of Liability
By participating in the Ride-Along Program, you agree to the following terms:
- Assumption of Risk: The rider understands that riding with deputies is inherently dangerous and may expose them to harm, serious injury, or death.
- Release of Liability: The rider releases and holds harmless the County of Lincoln, the Sheriff, deputies, employees, agents, and volunteers from any claims or liability arising from participation, including claims from the rider’s heirs or dependents.
- Eligibility:The rider certifies they:
- Are fluent in the English language,
- Have read and fully understand this waiver,
- Are at least 18 years of age,
- Are not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any mental condition that could impair understanding of this waiver.
- Severability: If any part of this waiver is found unenforceable, the remainder will stay in full effect.
- Insurance: The rider understands no hospitalization, health, or accident insurance is provided by the Sheriff’s Office for participation in this program.
