Associate Commissioner District 2

A resident of Troy since 1981, Matt Bass brings a wealth of experience and a passion for service to his role as a local government official. Originally from Senath-Hornersville in the Missouri boot heel, he graduated from Senath-Hornersville High School.
Matt and his wife, Janet, have been happily married for 42 years. They are proud parents of three children: Luke (41), Janae (37), and Logan (26), and have been blessed with 10 grandchildren.
For 37 years, Matt actively served the Troy community by owning and operating Krumbly Burger from 1987 to 2024. He finds great joy in serving people, spending time with family, fishing, and traveling. Recently, he and Janet have embarked on a new adventure, semi-retirement, by rehabilitating a historical property in Branson, Missouri.
Matt's commitment to public service began in 2008 when he first ran for office. As a small businessman, he believed his experience would be valuable in local government. Currently serving his fifth term as District 2 Associate Commissioner, he is dedicated to making a positive impact on the community.
In addition to his elected position, Matt is a member of the NECAC board, demonstrating his commitment to regional collaboration.
